Wow, just a few hours earlier they said that while Schumacher was hurt badly, he's in stable condition and conscious, and the injuries are certainly not life threatening... And now he's lying in coma and fighting for his life. I remember some people on the BBS having an argument about head injuries not too long ago and whether the Spurs goalkeeper Lloris should have been allowed to play or not after losing consciousness.. well, this just shows how unpredictable and nasty these head injuries can be. I never really liked Schumacher as a driver, I can't think of a more arrogant person! (He seems like a decent person otherwise though.) But it's the same winning mentality that makes him without a doubt one of the greatest drivers of all time, and I got to respect him for that. I guess he's one of those people that everyone loves to "hate"... F1 is boring without personalities like him. I hope that he pulls through and makes a full recovery.
Reminds me of what happened to Liam Neeson's wife - banged her head skiing, had a lucid interval and dead within twenty four hours. Best wishes to Michael Schumacher.
You can look a lot closer to home than that. Steve Cooper tripped and banged his head. Steve being Steve didn't bother going to the hospital. He went to bed that night and never woke up. Come on Michael, pull through this.
Bit like my Dad a few years ago. Had a puncture which spun the car and he hit his head on the side of the car, bit of a graze, nothing much. Two days later he collapsed, rushed to hospital, brain scan, induced coma, after a week he died. Always get a knock to the head checked out.
