that would have been.... ...a right tie. Still, quite a few non league clubs guaranteed to be in round 2. Fancy Swindon to be the laughing stock of the country come 5pm on first round day.
AFC Wimbledon happen to be the club playing closest to me They actually play in Kingston. I am different to most people as I dislike them as a club and their fans and would have loved to see them lose to MK DOns
They have a hypocritical smugness about them that annoys me They aren't even in the lodon Borough they are from and have done a lot to damage Kingstonian FC by not being. Just a personal dislike thing mainly I think. I also find FC United fans annoying None of them are as good for football as they would like to believe They ae like people who to try and ram their (often dubious) green credentials down your thoat
RE: pity- no AFC Wimbledon V MK Dons nt My mate's an AFC fan, and I was chatting to him on Tuesday when he came to the game with me, anyway, he said he thought most of the AFC fans didn't want MK Dons and it would kick off big style.
Whilst they'd love to get one over on them he said he wouldn't be able to trust himself to go (and he's certainly not a violent person), and thinks the same could be said for a lot of the fans. Sort of game that would have to be played behind closed doors.
He really wanted to draw Leeds as it happens

In all fairness though its not by choice they are not in their own borough Seem to think that the local council gives the impression they dont want a football team period Blocked all attempts for the original Wimbledon to move to a new ground a bit more suitable than Plough lane Werent interested in AFC setting up inside the borough either - hence the relocation to the next door borough of Kingston Hard to see what they were supposed to do really
RE: They have a hypocritical smugness about them that annoys me But imagine how you'd feel if the same happened to Barnsley
I think it's great that they've stuck to their beliefs, and backed AFC as much as they have, despite how much they were shat on by MK Dons and the authorities. As far as I'm concerned they are, and always will be, a continuation of Wimbledon, and I wish them nothing but good luck in their quest to get back to where they deserve to be

There have been opportunities to play in the borough but they have chosen not too Its not on their terms and doesnt fit their agenda so they have turned it down Also I find their pricing shocking. £270 for a season ticket in the main stand. Makes us seem positively cheap Hardly pricing fo the people is it
RE: There have been opportunities to play in the borough but they have chosen not too But the fans helped agree on the prices.
They are more than willing to pay decent money because they know anything they put in will definitely benefit the club/team etc. I might be wrong, but don't they have fans representatives on the board therefore allowing a direct link to how the money is handled? I know the fans have had a say in a few matters in the past, so it's clearly very much a club 'for the fans'.
Such prices won't encourage new fans, but they have a very loyal fan base as it is who just want their club back where it belongs. I think the fact they regularly get such good crowds for their level, shows the fans aren't grumbling about the costs.

I think the loyal fan base is the point and the club are milking them and taking them for a ride At least thats what i hear fom some fans We know from experience at Oakwell that fans quickly forget their fellow fans if they have a position of semi responsibility at the club
RE: I think the loyal fan base is the point and the club are milking them and taking them for a ride But like I say, I'm sure the prices were agreed on by the club and fans?
I'm not sure, I don't know all the ins and outs, but my AFC supporting mate seems very happy with how things are down there at the moment. He's bought a season ticket this year, despite living in Leeds, simply because he wants to help support the club, and from what he's said, it seems many are happy to do the same.
Your point about forgetting fellow fans is a very valid one, it just seems currently there's a spirit and solidarity at AFC that doesn't exist elsewhere, the fact everyone is together in the feelings towards what has happened to them and how the authorities well and truly f ucked them over.
But I guess this could all change in the future

RE: I think the loyal fan base is the point and the club are milking them and taking them for a ride I agree solidarity among fans is great. But they don't seem to appreciate they are doing to others what happened to them. What frustrates me is that they clearly care about wimbledon but not football as a whole. They are happy for others to be shafted as long as their beloved wimbledon are ok
