Candidate for post of the day Rotherham are going bust because they owe about the same as one weeks wages for several Premier League players. I don't begrudge the top players the money but surely someone has to come to their senses soon. If things carry on like this there will only be the Champions league left, with about 16 teams in it. All the other clubs will have gone bust. The big boys will soon follow down the pan, because people will get bored with watching sterile boring games like last night Man U v Barca.
RE: Candidate for post of the day Thats the F.A for you though, they only really give a **** about the top 4 teams in the premiership. SKY and Setanta don't help matters by giving the F.A millons every year. The parachute payments from being relagated from the PL should be lower, for example, Derby have done **** all this year and they are going to get how many millons from it ? For gods sake even we have beaten more PL teams than them this year The money in football these days pisses me right off!
RE: well said mate When they initially proposed the Premiership/Sky tv deal a lot of people were concerned at the outcome and predicted that the majority of the two lower league clubs would either go bust or part-time. I find it ludicrous that clubs who are struggling financially also have 10 points deducted because their finances aren't too good - especially when you see what average players in the Premiership are earning.
Good luck to cardiff we had our chance if we'd taken it there'd be no debate on the anthem,**** all to do with us now.
RE: So the FA are making up rules as they go along Actually, I think it would have been easier for UEFA to give a wild card should we win it - ala Liverpool a few years back. In fact, the FAW could have nominated us as their representatives (anyone can be nominated by their FA) but they choose not to. Every year. Think the FA buckled after Michael Platini stepped in and said he'd push for us to be allowed entry. As for our national anthem, that was played at the 1927 cup final as well so there is a precedent there. Don't particularly agree with either myself but there you go...
So let me get this straight ................... they are a .... ........... - WELSH club who play in the ENGLISH League, because it's better than their own own WELSH League; - they want to represent the ENGLISH league in the UEFA Cup if they win the ENGLISH FA Cup; - they want the WELSH anthem played at the ENGLISH FA Cup Final; and - they hate ENGLAND and everything that is ENGLISH. Talk about wanting the penny and the bun .... they make my **** itch .......... **** off and play in Wales full time you hypocritical Welsh lovely personts
Me neither I've got a lot of sympathy for you playing in Europe if you win the FA cup. I wouldnt even mind too much if the rules said that any entrant to the FA cup gets the European place However changing rules mid competition is a farce. As for playing the Welsh national anthem - sorry but its not an international competition its a domestic one - the British national anthem is just fine thanks - wish we'd beaten you then none of this would matter
To be fair I don't believe that they did "want" the Welsh anthem to be played, in that they didn't request it. The FA have just said that they'll play it.
Declaring Wembley Officially part of the principality of Wales on Semi-final day I dont think helped win friends and support.
