I don't know if this has already been commented upon, but obviously after last year's near mis-hap of a Championship team nearly winning the Cup, the FA managed to decrease the risk this season by holding the final 23 days after the end of the Football League Season and 6 days after the Play-off final (just in case one of the upstarts had any thoughts about winning twice at Wembley this season!). So had the final been between a Premiership team and a Championship team this year, the Premiership team would have prepared by playing out the last few games of the season, pitting their wits against opposing Premiership players and maybe even playing in the Champions League Semis or the Final, whilst the Championship team would have prepared with a fortnight in Magaluf.
