Just watched Simon Davey's interview on BBC and he mentioned that getting to the final against Portsmouth could put us into Europe..

If the Cup winners qualified for Europe in the league then the runners-up in the cup get the UEFA spot?

That's what I thought anyway, but I read it was only if the winners qualified for Champions League (top four).

    Anybody know the definite rule?

If the Cup winners qualify for the Champions League, then the Cup runners up go into the UEFA Cup.

If the Cup winners finish in a UEFA Cup or Inter-wotsit Cup qualifying place, then they enter the UEFA Cup with the place from the FA Cup and the league placing goes to the team below them in the league.
