been watching the sunday supplement on sky sports this morning. The journalists on there say barnsley fans would be happy to win the fa cup, even if it meant getting relegated.

As good as last night was

If winning last night meant we would be relegated and losing meant we stopped up. i for one would have chosen to lose.

    my choice is staying up

id be tempted to go for the cup

i think its fair to say we will get relegated again, im not saying this season or anytime soon but bfc will at some point go down again, that is the nature of football and we all know that. </p>

    </p>

We could never have another chance like this again!</p>

    Cup all day long....

...cos I dont think we are gonna be facing relegation.

Only three teams in last 19 seasons have gone down on 43 points or more.

I think people need to stop being so pessimistic in Barnsley.

Deffo FA Cup...when was the last time...

we won the cup, that would be 96 years ago.

When was the last time we got relegated...and promoted...and relegated again..oh and promoted. You see where I am going with this.

As long as there is a football club there to support and watch week in week out are you really that bothered which division we are in? Attendances would still be the same, standard of football is not markedly different.

Last night was a great example of why you stick by your team, success, bragging rights, excitement, Kudos, you wouldn't want to change that for the world surely?

    F.A. Cup.

Seriously, if we went down, we bounce back and certainly more quickly than we'd get to win another F.A. Cup - let's face it a second F.A. Cup is not in the bag and it may never ever happen again. Imagine if we won the F.A. Cup - what it would mean to the game of football. We'd shake up the world. We'd make global news. The world watches the F.A. Cup final. It would reinvigorate the whole competition. The whole of the football league would sit up and listen. It would give us the money and the exposure to push on back to top flight football. The glory of winning the cup, compared ignominy of 'avoiding relegation' - B*ll*cks - I'd much rather win the cup.

    ignominy of 'avoiding relegation' ??

its not a simple as that tho !! ... what was our number aim pre season , to make sure we are in this division come the start of next season , nothing has changed in that respect , sure getting to wembley is fantastic but if it meant spending another 4 years in the ale house league then im sure there would be be plenty of dissenters come next year when this season is a distant memory...

cant we have both anyway ??????

    F.A.Cup

We can win promotion from League 1 again....but when will we get as good a chance to win the FA Cup?

We'd go in the history books and we'd all remember winning the Cup for the rest of our lives.....we wouldn't say the same about when we avoided relegation.

ive been watching reds over 30 years i always dreamed of playing in the top flight which i got to see a few years ago i never ever imagined i could live to see the day a barnsley captain lifting the fa cup now that dream as turned in to reality after beating liverpool chelsea our under strength side with injuries and cup tied players which as of yet i have never heard mentioned although liverpool were without torres and chelsea had drogba and lampard missing my arse i would now give anything to see us lift the cup ps if anyone thinking about a cruise cancel it go to benidorm

    Staying up is more important

Not doing so would be a failure. Ok we might come back up but we might also spend a fair few seasons in Div 3. See our past/Fowls/Notts Forest. Wonder what kind of crowds we would get if we did end up there?

    Let's have both

But if I was given a straight choice, a hard and fast decision, between F.A. Cup winning this year, and relegation to four years of ale house football OR staying up, I'd still take winning the F.A. Cup. Now that's winning the whole bloody thing and getting to play in the charity shield and UEFA Cup as well.

In reality I want both :D

    FA Cup without a doubt...

As our history proves winning the FA Cup is a once in a life time event and would never be forgotten. In 50 years time people would still talk with immense pride about winning the cup, no one would ever feel that way about staying up. This could be a very special year for the club.

fa cup - think we will have enough about us to stay up as well

there are a lot of six pointers down there but it didnt help yesterday with them all winning.

We need to get a couple of wins sharpish!!!

    Financially surely winning the cup

we would be in Europe, earn the club a shed load of money which could buy us straight out of div 1

Both... one will not effect the other

We should be good enough to stay up and win the FA Cup.

if we play like we did last night, we don´t have to worry about relegating.
