Just out of interest can anyone remember the last time Barnsley were drawn agaisnt a non league team in the FA Cup. I remember bromsgrove but no one else. Sure some oldies will know on here
Thats the last one l think, other than that Caernarfon Town, we drew 0-0 away and l think we won 1-0 in the replay, around 1986ish? *Awaits big lil*
We were also drawn against St Albans or Torquay in 1981, but Torquay won their replay. But we drew Enfield at home in the next round.
1980/81 Enfield Town replay at White Hart Lane 35,000 crowd. http://www.enfield-today.co.uk/News...for a reunion to celebrate the glory days of
In my years of watching us We beat Bradford P.A. in 1970/71 first round, but then lost to Rhyl in a second round second replay, lost to Marine in 1975/76 first round, beat Boston FC (NOT Boston Utd) in 1976/77 first round, beat Worksop Town in 1978/79 first round, beat Enfield in 1980/81 in a fourth round replay, beat Caenarfon in a 1986/87 third round replay and beat Bromsgrove Rovers in 1993/94 third round.

Re: In my years of watching us Biggest injustice in the history of association football was that 2-1 victory at Bromsgrove. Never thought I'd ever be unhappy with a Barnsley win, but walking away from the ground that day I just felt we'd cheated them.
We were very, very lucky And didn't deserve anything from the game. But to describe it as the biggest injustice in the history of association football is going over the top in a manner usually only seen from Super Tyke.
Re: We were very, very lucky I would expect someone to be sacked for this overly melodramatic statement!!!
Re: In my years of watching us I think it was a bigger injustice some BFC 12 year old oiks ripped some of the roof off of the corrugated iron stand in frustration .... for us to then go on and win!
Draw is first week in December after second round. You'd know if was today as there would be plenty of 'who you want in cup' threads ha
Re: We were very, very lucky Probably, but it wasn't just our performance I was referring to, it was everything about the day. The abuse Danny Wilson got, the constant bitching from our 'supporters' throughout the game, the way they then invaded the pitch each time we scored and on the final whistle like we'd won the FA Cup, the poor old guy in the Bromsgrove stand who had a heart attack, the appalling way some Barnsley fans behaved on the way out of the ground as they lobbed bricks at cars, ransacked people's gardens and basically acted like cnuts. We were guests at one of the biggest days in Bromsgrove's history and we completely ruined it. We were outplayed, but spawned the victory and our fans showed no grace what-so-ever in either the probable defeat or the unlikely last minute victory. I was embarrassed to be a Barnsley fan that day. It very nearly ended my relationship with the club.
