http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26618670 suppose even they have to get the odd one right, from time to time..
If correct, things could get very difficult for Hull City AFC supporters. He's promised to sell the club if they reject the name change.
so if their owner goes ahead with his threat to leave the club will the FA bankroll Hull? if the owner wants to change the name then I can see a big court hearing which the owner will win
but their team nickname is "The Tigers" so to be honest I cannot see what all the fuss is about. By saying that I mean the OWNERS fuss... All he needs to do is make a huge advertising scheme really highlighting the nickname "Tigers". Merchandising etc... if the have a Hull City TV then use the logo on that , huge tiger pictures on the Outside of the stadium... Tee shirts etc. I personally see a way to keep everyone happy , if sense is applied. We are widely know as the Tykes ... Toby Tyke is looked upon fondly by all, I would not want us to be re-named Barnsley Tykes though.... there is no need for it. Everyone knows Arsenal as the "Gunners" , the Sheffield's as the Blades and the Owls. Southampton as the Saints. I won't go on to list them all. But you all see, I hope, what I am getting at. No worries pushing to the front a Nickname at all. But we seriously do not want to go the way American sports are, or as Rugby teams in this country too.
Re: but their team nickname is "The Tigers" Chuffed this has happened, just hope it gets pushed through. Cannot stand the club or its fans so hopefully Allam gets ****ed off and walks away, puts them into administration and they get relegated, end up back where they belong and Hull can go back to being a Rugby League town wiith residents who like football supporting Leeds, Liverpool and Man United like they did 10 - 15 years ago.
I think you may find that Like us Hull have spent the majority of their time in the second Tier. Also do you know a lot of people from Hull?
which is why all this talk of a take over for us makes me very worried, Look at Cardiff & Portsmouth to name just two.
