BBC: "Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero will face no action for his challenge on Chelsea defender David Luiz in Sunday's FA Cup semi-final . The Football Association said the 24-year-old Argentina striker will not be charged retrospectively for the two-footed tackle in City's 2-1 victory. It follows confirmation referee Chris Foy saw at least part of the incident and acted on it during the match." The tackle wasn't the problem. It was the stamp that followed it that was. I think Dawson's challenge probably warranted a red on Saturday but if that's the case, this one definitely did - and the accompanying ban should be longer. But yet again they hide behind the 'there's nothing we can do' comment. It's laughable they say that the referee saw "at least part of the incident". If he did, he got it wrong and it should be corrected. Bunch of bloody buffoons!
I agree entirely. I don't care who it is (I actually quite like Aguero) it was a deliberate 2-footed stamp = red card. If that had been Rooney, or Barton or any number of other players with a "reputation", the press and this board would have been all over it. And as for the FA, well it's just a lottery as far as bans and suspensions are concerned.
If this is not a straight red then I have honestly got no idea what a red card is anymore
