I think the whole of England released a collective groan when McClaren was announced as manager. It would seem that even the average football fan could anticipate what a ***** appointment McClaren was going to be. What is going on at the FA? Will anything ever change there? You could start a list of 'FA men' and none of them inspire confidence as football managers or coaches.

May I begin? Please feel free to add your own:

    McClaren

    Platt

    Howard Wilkinson

    Gareth Southgate

    Taylor

Stuart Pearce (how can City have such a dicey season, yet the manager is the preferred choice to coach our under 21s??)

Was barry taylor on the panel that chose the unpopular 'cheap option' manager?

Scolari - + if you cant beat em' recruit em'. - Doesnt like the media (no point then).

Allardyce - + worked miracles at Bolton, probably the most succesful English manager going, Bolton/Europe. - Kevin Davies would be upfront and made captain, long ball.

Mclaren - + Knows the players well, scores good goals in training. - hes been Sven Goran Erikssonised.

Pearce - + Patriotic - places small furry animals on the touchline, would be red carded too often.

The bottom line is we're short of good English managers, and short of good English strikers. Bloody foreigners n all that.
