What do people put the decrease in away support down to? Not just numerically but also in atmosphere and fun etc? IS it just the standard of football? More the price of tickets? Boredom of the same grounds every season? Just interested because I know of countless mates who have all dropped off going over the last two seasons but none seem to really pin-point a particular reason!
For me, it is the increasing cost, and reducing chance of it being rewarded with even a shot to get out of your seat for, never mind a point. The Brighton game was the first we won away in 10 months - and the possibility of us winning it was remote - those who are based in the north who went down for that one deserve a medal
Cost for me. Not just the tickets which at some places border on robbery, but even driving to home games costs me a small fortune these days.
There wasn't that bad an amount. True, they could have zoomed in to take the picture. This is the pic for the people who haven't got facebook.
It looked like at least a thousand to me, we filled pretty much all the space that was cordoned off Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
No I didn't, but if you do need to know I've been writing my final report to become chartered, can't do it tomorrow as I'm at a christening and working all next week in the office in India. That good enough for you JF?
was at least a 1000 , and to say burnley are top of league , their fans were one of the most quietist we have played .
Whatever your reason for not being there, you call our away support embarrassing yet you weren't there to add to the numbers. Slightly hypocritical in my book. I wasn't there either, I had a ticket though.
Factors for me in recent years been increasing child responsibility, a desire to maintain a decent lifestyle and house without debt, but also I've been all over the country and seen us play umpteen times now at places like Burnley. One of the few downsides of being second longest servants in the league behind Ipswich. Away day has to be that for enjoyment so focused my £100 and 3 hours on £91 for materials to rebuild garden fence that snapped in storm, £45 on tyre/alloy repair. And it's also Christmas so while I missed out with all the lads yesterday I do want to buy presents. Bring in above average wage but never flush. Some of lads I go with have no mortgage, car and especially kids so their disposable income more than me. I was richer when just started work. Nevertheless, earmarked Leeds as a present to myself so a bit hypocritical. Home games for me have been paid for, walk into town, and know where I can get cheap, quality ale. Away games are usually at least £50 before you look for a beer.
