If I wanted to tweet stuff on twitter I would. I've got an account but I never tweet stuff because I just don't want to. I don't think it's very fair that now, against my wishes, any new post becomes a tweet on a site that I don't want to have anything to do with.

If everyone else is OK with it then fine. But at least tell everyone what you've done and ask them if that's what they want. I don't think it's right to publish a person's posts elsewhere and not make them aware that you've done it.

 

Oh and

When you've banned someone, don't then belittle them by calling them a kid when you know they can't respond back to you.

Personally I don't want my posts going out on Twitter or Facebook. I don't care that my name isn't attached to it. I want to post on this forum alone not those commercial ventures that I have very little to do with and don't really like. But that's my personal preference so it's up to me whether I carry on posting now that I know the score.

What bothers me more is that you've just done it rather than asked us if we'd like our posts flying around the whole internet. For all I know the majority of this BBS may like the fact that their posts are now published on twitter and facebook. Or they may not care one way or another. But at least they should know that's what's happening and maybe even discuss if that's what they want to happen. I thought this was a community.

You obviously think it's a good idea. I just thought you may have asked the users of the forum if they thought it was a good idea too. It's a pretty radical step that you've taken and it's content from the users that is now being published.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe no one gives a flying ****. Personally I would have liked to be asked.

Im with you mate 100% on this. For all the reasons you stated.
I said yesterday I was limiting my use of the forums and such like. There are many reasons tbh. The absolute lack of fun and banter. The constant wittering about a mans interviews. Its just become too monotonous on both ere and Tykesmad. I use to love visiting ere. It was one of my daily highlights in between hard graft and hard life (recently). But the last month or 2 it seemed like hard work.
I do blame the move to this new site. Yes its quicker (not by much now though) and more modern. But its lost its character, its charm, and a lot of charming characters. Who havent journeyed over... its sad but so true, and I doubt Im alone in this view.
But this whole twitter, facebook and official site stuff is doing no favours. I got a new follower - Bransley News - so I ignored the spelling mistake and followed back. But then all of a sudden my entire timeline was taken up by BBS threads!
Now, thats annoying. Its force feeding me sumat that Im quite capable of browsing WHEN I WANT. Ive managed before ffs. The same happened on facebook too. So I un-liked, and un-followed. The excuse that you cant see who wrote and blah blah blah doesnt wash with me. Its just intrusive. But this is ONLY my opinion, before I get any grief.
And the point about the club and imprints when you visit the site etc, is just hilarious. I put ENOUGH blummin time, money and effort into my club already. The day I waste valuable minutes of my limited time clicking away on that site, is the day its WORTH visiting. Its pap. Simple as. Improve it, and then folk will imprint it or whatever you wanna call it.
This is nothing against Gally. You are doing your best pal. I do agree with Jay that you should have asked first re the twitter and facebook notifications, but thats just my own view. Many wont give a flying...
But yes, the clubs on the up on the field, its pap off the field, and the forums are on the Sheff Utd slide...

I agree, I have no issue with what I post on here being posted on Twitter or Facebook. As has already been said in this thread this BBS is an open forum that anyone can read so I don't see a problem with my posts being read on other sites as well.
