With the managerial merry-go-round it is difficult to see who is the ideal candidate.....

If we appoint an up and coming manager or manager from lower leagues e.g. Mark Robins he will be to inexperienced and hasn't proved anything at this level.
If we appoint experienced man e.g. Alan Curbishley, expectations at Oakwell will be set even higher unless he's instant sucess he will be slaughtered, and if he does well probably won't stick around?
If we take a gamble on a former top flight player e.g. Tony Adams, they will be criticised for inexperience and will need to get instant results to win over the fans otherwise they will be slaughtered.

What ever the board do it will be criticised.

I don't just feel the manager is to blame for our current situation, I felt that SD's coaching team as a whole lacked experience. Hull City won promotion to the premiership with an inexperienced manager (Phil Brown) in charge but he had the backup and support of two former managers Brian Horton and Steve Parkin. I strongly felt after the first season in charge SD should have added some experience to the backroom staff to offer support.
