Nyatanga, De Silva, Macken and even Werling had a huge impact on our team! and all played a big part in getting us to the top half of the table....

To lose one possibly two of them would not have been so bad, however, to lose all four has ripped the heart and out of our club!!!

Howard is lost without De Silva....

    Souza is lost without Nyatanga.....

and the whole team is lost without the influence of Macken...

We can't suddenly jump on SD's case, I'm sure given the opportunity he would have brought them all back permenantly. SD knows as well as we all do that we need to bring in players to freshen things up.... but the loss of these key players has stopped momentum and we need to build again.... I'm sure we will start to see some action in the transfer window next week!

Until then..... come on lads get behind em! YOU REDS!!!!!!!

I didn't think Howard and De Silva played that well together. The experienced Souza is lost without a kid beside him? We are in trouble if that's true. Werling was only good when we had a set piece. I think it's more down to teams finding us out and our lack of championship quality experience.

    Thats true but

3 out of the 4 dpartures were always a big possibility and shows the folly in planning your team around so many loanees

Agreed... quality teams/players adapt when their play is found out. We've already exhausted Plan 'B' (panic, play as induhviduals, don't trust yer teammates, don't run off the ball, play with no shape).

Poor management, with no viable second option, despite the fact that in his own words, "we have a much better and stronger squad than last season!" .

True,we were in a false position built on half a team of loan signings.Without them we are showing how good we really are!

The words I used were "viable second option". Perhaps you don't understand what viable means.

Agreed. Howard and Anderson together were the best centre midfield pairing we've had in a bloody long time.

Perhaps Nyatanga (although there have been advocates and detractors on here).

De Silva is a class act but he's been back and forth.

Macken joined a bit later on in the season if I remember rightly.

Werling in my opinion (cannonball boot notwithstanding) was more liability than asset.

Can't build a team on temporary signings. And he didn't.

We're a lower table championship team at best. We need enough ballast to keep our heads above water. Survival will always be success.

    Wait a minute !!!

Our aim this season was to finish higher in this league. Why would we sign 10 players and ship the same out. If we were to be a low finish, perhaps relagation side, why the **** did we bother.

The squad is small enough as it is

Can SD really afford to "freeze out" players who "could" occupy these vacant positions?

I talk about Colgan; Johnson; Reid; Kozluk; Togwell - all of whom could be used to provide competition for places (or fill in when numbers are thin on the ground).

I suspect at least four of those players are not even "match fit" - and that is the fault of the manager. We cannot afford to have players rotting away at home when we are struggling to put a team out.
