Factory Records Founder Tony Wilson Dead The TV presenter Tony Wilson, one of the leading lights in the Manchester music scene, has died of cancer at the age of 57. Wilson, who set up the Factory Records label and the Hacienda Club, was associated with groups like New Order and the Happy Mondays. He was also a reporter and presenter on TV and radio in the Manchester area. His life was depicted in the film, 24 Hour Party People. He had been suffering from kidney cancer. Me thinks I'll get the Madchester tunes on tonight. R.I.P Tony.
