    Retired from football today after becoming fed up with how football has gone. Says the money, social media and debt problems throughout the game has pushed him away. Big decision that is, the lads only 29! Says he's going to set up a business in Spain with his family and friends now instead.

    There's probably more to it than the reasons he gave, but he's right. Football has become an ugly, evil organisation.

    Might be something to do with him not being able to get a club? Although I don't know if he's been looking. Hasn't played since Tottenham released him last summer. £15 million Tottenham paid for him. I wonder if his heart was ever really in it.

    I just don't believe him. I reckon he's made his millions from the game and can't be arsed anymore. I wonder if he can see the irony in his statement.
