I thought he was showing signs when we let him go

At the time he was playing up front on his own a lot.

I always thought he looked better than some gave him credit for

Mind you when we got offered 60K for him I did think we should take the money. Glad he has done well for himself - should be OK in league one again next season with the Swans :pff

Yep, I was quite impressed. He works well holding the ball up and distributing it. He often didnt' have someone to give it to when he was with us.

He was only a young lad when he played for Barnsley but was just coming good when we let him go. The boo boys diidn't help matters either. He's filled out a bit and turned into a good striker. Same with Johnny Parkin. We could have saved a fortune by keeping them both 'cos they're both good enough for the Championship and far better than what we have currently.

double sad is that they came through the academy

and they were ditched by managers who didn't have a future with us....

Like Winnie, thirty-year career ended by a nobody...

slightly better than when here but **** nonetheless.

    I rest my case.

    Thank you.

To oppose my opinion is merely a statement of your own lack of football savvy.

That's just a Pompey fan who'd had a few too many beers. I've seen that post too. :)

I'd have him back anyday. I always liked him.

If we'd have lost I wouldn't say this, but since we won and Swansea lost - Rory's goal serves everyone who ever critised him right. Good job he didn't score a winner for 'em or anything. That would've been quite annoying for me.

    1. Peter Crouch is taller.

Couln't believe it was the same player

He looked physically strong and no longer looks like a bean pole.

    Nicky Wroe and other youngsters

Give them a chance, like we didn't Rory and John P. Along with rascism, kick the boo boys out. However with Fallon, he was on his own up front and it was noticeable that we slid down the table after Gudjon sold him.
