Wolves 5-0 and Leeds 2-1 (89/90) spring to mind. And on that note my skiving is over - back to work methinks.
sheff u away promotion season , super john scores 85min for us to go top o league at xmas. oh aye anfield..
i was 16 when we played the away wolves game and it was the first away match i went to with just me and my mates,i remember being locked in the ground for 15 minutes after game as there was few hundred stroppy wolves fans at the top of that hill outside of the away end waiting to have a pop at us.</p>
play offs birmingham 0 - 4 . absolutely brilliant - then **** my pants after the match as brum fans clearly wanted to maim us.
RE: sheff u away remember sheff u at home, the cheeky flick by super john, right in front of the blunts as well
Mid 70's 7-1 at Workington And early 90's at Hillsborough on penalties in the ZDS (or whatever it was then)
Absolutely my favourite game of all time. I brought 3 mates up from Stafford, Wolves fans, they had to physically drag me out of the ground afterwards. Sung myself hoarse, We are top of the League, Brazil, Stand up if you hate Sheffield etc. the best feeling I've ever had upon leaving a football ground, bar none. brawling like f.ck in the station afterwards an all. happy days.
80/81 Fulham 2, Barnsley 3.... Snowing like buggery in Barnsley - we walked to Oakwell from Wuzbrer in our wellies, expecting the game to be called off. A few calls from the Social Club revealed it was a lovely morning in London (this was a Friday night fixture) - it was quite bloody warm in fact. Gary Pierce got injured, and in stepped Glyn Riley who was possibly our smallest player to put in the goals. We won and went top of the old third division.... Next day we even got a mention on Football Focus..... Around 1,200 Reds fans went down for that one i reckon.
