...the previous thread about pointless countries reminded me of a conversation we were having on the way to Germany for the Paraguay game in the middle of the night! We were passing through Belgium and were trying to think of famous Belgians (or famous things from Belgium cos we were struggling with just people!). We came up with Hercule Poirot Tin Tin Stella Artois The European parliament David Platts goal v Belgium and a couple of others that I've now forgotten, but it was a real struggle. I remember a Belgian player who played for Spurs - late 80's/early nineties? - right-winger/forward, think he was No.7 and signed for them from Anderlecht after either the World Cup or Euro Championships. Anybody remember him? It's driving me mad. he was quite good and think he was around for 2 or 3 years. Anybody?
Bosman - as in the Bosman ruling was one of the great unwashed as was... ... the F1 driver Thierry Boutson.
Jean-Marc Bosman. I tried cheating but I've never heard of any of the people at http://www.famousbelgians.net !
Sorry, misunderstanding I was just listing him as A famous Belgian, not THE famous Belgian you were after.
It's hard isn't it? it's even hard to think of any of their players! I remember that Jan Coolemans (wrong spelling I know!) but he didn't play for Spurs. Come on, somebody must know this Spurs player, he was Belgium's star player at the time
Yes, I'm fairly sure, I remember him playing on the wing.. ... just struggling to remember the era. When somebody sez it, everybody will remember him
