Think I know the person involved - was at school with him. He's a decent lad to be fair but there must be more to it - needs some clarity on what went on

What was on the flag, did he say?
Edit. Seen it was just an American flag. Seems a bit odd but hopefully the club will communicate with him as to the exact issues.

Absolutely no idea of either end of the case (literally all I know is in this thread), but attending every game isn't in the equation tbh.

Heard someone was waving this whilst shouting "Game over!" when we went 1 down yesterday.

The fact that the defence is “he’s sound” and “he goes to every game” is ridiculous really.

That shouldn’t factor into it whatsoever

The FB post doesn’t have any additional info either, from what I can see. Only one person on the post seems to have asked for more info. Everyone else seems to have just accepted on face value and piled in.

Surely this is an incident where clear and concise communication from the club is needed; to explain their actions and the reason for them.

I was sat in front of one of his mates, the flag has no fire safety certificate. By all accounts he'd had a few shandies and he kicked off big time which is why he wasn't let in, the steward told him if he calmed down he would be allowed in but he wouldn't listen.

Is it though? Maybe the ones stoking the issue are the ones who should be providing the clarity? If the Club have done nothing wrong why do they need to issue a public statement?

    STATEMENT:

After having seen reports online about an incident which took place on Saturday (April the 13th), Monkey Red House would like to clarify its position.

At 19:32, MR returned to see that one canine resident had shaat all over the new cream carpet in the living room. This being in contravention of the standard terms of entry to the living room, the dog in question was refused entry and made to spend the night in the kitchen. He was then given reentry to the living area after a period of having tail between his legs.

MRH values its loyal pets and would like to remind all pets that they are welcome in the house should they not void themselves.

Monkey Red House hopes this will now put an end to damaging social media speculation and that this will dry out the knickers of folk who are desperate to amplify things cos internet sed so.

I'm not saying they've done anything wrong, but surely we deserve full and clear communication from the club.

I never realised the club were responsible for crowd management on social media.

Dunno. Do we? Can’t speak for others, but I personally don’t need it. Someone has gone on Twitter and posted something, without any information. Should the Club really have to respond to that? Even if they have banned/suspended a fan, does that warrant public comms? Isn’t that between the Club and the individual? I’m genuinely surprised that people are challenging the Club for information, rather than the people posting on SM.

If the Club issued a statement every time someone has been refused entry or been thrown out for kicking off there would be one every week.

Then maybe less people would kick off in the first place...

If someone gets banned from Oakwell wouldn't it be better to keep it private to begin with? Contact the club, speak to someone about it and try and come to an agreement? The first thing to do is vent online and be given no context isn't what I would do.
