Definitely a step in the right direction. Is it open to season ticket holders too, or just those buying match tickets? The information on the official site is unclear. http://www.barnsleyfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/BreakingNewsDetail/0,,10309~722002,00.html OUR first FANS OF THE FUTURE tickets are available from the Oakwell Box Office now. Unlikely to be of any use to season ticket holders mate. Unless there's an empty seat next to them. Great to see this kind of incentive though.
Maybe the possibility to swap their seat for this game to allow them to sit with the child? It's a good inititive that should be open to as many fans as possible. Maybe there are already procedures in place to allow season ticket holders to do that.
Rant starting... ... why, oh why, oh why do the club not clarify whether this means one kid per adult, or one adult can bring all his family ??? (furious) This question has been asked many times, but still the club can't bring themselves to give the answer in their promotion information. Also, what arrangements are the club making to allow season ticket holders to move to another seat, so they can sit with their kids ??? Rant over...or is it ???
I bet they would do that if asked My brother and his wife sit in the East Upper. His wife's mother (who lives in Wales but visits fairly often) is mildly disabled and cannot manage the stairs. When she visits, the club let them buy one ticket for the old girl in East Lower then swap their S/T vouchers for adjacent lower-tier seats. It's only the same principle, although if too popular, would be a logistical mare.
Early days for a rant, pal It's a good move in the right direction by the club. If you want clarification, ring em up and ask politely. I'm sure if a few people were to ring, they'd get Rib Noodles to update the info on the main site to clarify the points raised.
I know, but... ... its just another example of the club not thinking things through before they make an announcement. There have been enough discussions on the pricing policy for them to realise they haven't got it quite right. I am fully behind a scheme such as this and look forward to seeing hundreds, nay thousands more lounger supporters at Oakwell, but one thing I'm sure of is that being cagey with information and limiting the availabality of such tickets to "pay on the day" supporters is only going to antagonise long-term supporters to the point of alienisation. I have said before that I have four young kids who would like to watch the Reds, but at today's prices, that's not going to happen very often. If the club get their act together, then they could very soon see an increase in attendances from the very families who are already supporting them !
RE: Rant starting... for f*cks sake ,are barnsley fans never happy... if the club gave you a free season ticket youd moan cos it was in the east stand and not the ponty.... ffs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
