Cant believe we lost that one, great effort from start to finish. Entertaining to watch throughout also, signs of improvement are definitely there. Driving home happy despite losing 3-2!
Football is a results based business . I respect the fact we sounded as though we gave it a good go As we are now we need more than giving it a good go. GET REAL THE TABLE DOES NOT LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was there too and likewise I thought we deserved a point at least. But shoddy defending cost us as usual and I expect Townsend back in goal for the weekend as Davies was poor throughout. But Townsend is useless. So I really don't know. Very impressed with both full backs who grew into the game and I felt that Hourihane and Hammill were a cut above. We do though still lack a true defensive minded midfielder to mind the gaps so to speak. A bit of nous and been there experience. Both Watkins and Toney in attack were ok until the finishing touch needed applying. As many feel, I haven't a clue why Winnall and Jackson aren't first choice. Mawson scored a perfectly good goal that wasn't given. Couldn't tell if Long deserved a red, but probably albeit based on one viewing. In essence we were good value for something tonight and I can't help but look at our players and feel we're much much better than relegation fodder. However I can't say that for the manager who I reckon is struggling to get them playing as a team, a unit. But then again he's having to chop and change like a goodun so I really don't know anymore. I feel sad if I'm honest. It's hard seeing us like this and I wish I had the magical wand to fix it. But alas I don't and so I support them in deepest darkest Peterborough where my feet now feel like ice blocks! We'll stay up though. But how poor a statement is that to utter after 19 games in League One. I hope we get the rub of the green on Saturday against the club we love to hate.
