Get a grip. Get over it. He's not a lover who has been unfaithful. He's a bloke who took a better job, in a volatile market. If any of you, can say, hand on heart that you'd plod on where you were, rather than take a local job, on loads more money, then fair enough. I know what I'd do.
170K from Wednesday when we would only pay 150K a year, so it's not like the club tried that hard to keep him when he was being offered the chance to remain a Premiership Manager. WITWW.
It also so long ago that many marriages have started and ended in the meantime, and kids who were not old enough at the time to go to football games have since graduated from University. There are kids who were not even born when he left us for Wednesday who will be taking their GCSEs in 6 months time. It's a lifetime ago. Speaking personally, I used to have hair when Wilson was last manager (well a bit anyway). Move on.
Why would anyone think he was a Judas. He did a great job for us at oakwell and even better job for us when he managed scum
What got me at the time was... Not the fact that he went to wednesday, it was that he said he was going nowhere all the way up to season ticket renewal date and then went two days later. Proper stuck in my craw, that did.
Re: What got me at the time was... It p1ssed a lot of people off, no doubt about it. But it was a looong time ago now. Time to move on and welcome him back.
Re: What got me at the time was... Don't disagree with that, I just wanted to make the point that to a lot of people, going to Wednesday was not the reason they called him Judas
Re: What got me at the time was... makes me laugh this Judas calling. Wilson was not going any where until Dennis sold his captain, Redfern behind his back. If you aren't shown loyalty by your employer then what you expect. I for one not only want Wilson but rather demand he's given the job.
And if he was a lover who was unfaithful, might be worth taking them back to see what new tricks they've learnt. Like swallowing.
The reason i don't want Danny Wilson is because things have changed so much at the club he's going to fail and be sacked, for what he did at this club what he gave the fans, i think Grove street should be renamed Wilson Way, and if/when the west stand gets refurbished it should be The Danny Wilson Western Terrace, not be sacked and aloud to become another scape goat for a board of directors who lack ambition what so ever
Re: What got me at the time was... I was galling, but what was he to do? I doubt we will never know the true picture. I expect that he wasn't in a position to say anything else until he knew for sure he was off to Wednesday. I didn't renew my ST because Danny said he was staying. I renewed it because I'm a proper fan.....
Got to agree, so as I read it some people were only going to renew because Danny told them to? And nothing to do with actually supporting your team?
Couldn't agree more it's almost like a mental illness holding a grudge against someone who left 15 years ago to take a better paid job after delivering us football it was.a privilege to watch. I personally bought a season ticket because I support the club can't say the words of any manager would change this.
