man up, ffs. Mellon was 2nd in command to Flitcroft who was 2nd in command to Hill who wasn't good enough. You're looking/hoping for something that isn't there. Today was everything you need to know, poor in every department.

    Neil Warnock. Get it done.

We weren't much better than against Birmingham today, nothing against Mellon but there will be something wrong if he is given the job full time.

Can't see us getting anything next week, in fact it's hard see where a single point might come from this side of 2014.

If Mellon gets the job, I won't be questioning him. H scan only do his best, and he'll obviously take the job if he's offered it. I'll be questioning the board, for giving him it.

If people think Neil Warnock would want to come to us we really are kidding ourselves. Not convinced he would have the motivation for it any way. I'm with Redstar on this one. I'm convinced it's Mellon's. Mansford will come out with something along the lines of, "well, we got a good result at Brighton, played well against Burnley, and we showed promising signs against Yeovil". Once again, settled and appearing satisfied with mediocrity.

Sticking my neck out here, but I would rather have Simon Davey than Mellon. I honestly would. We need a clean break with the Hill/Flitcroft era. At least Davey sought players that he thought would help us progress rather than just survive

I agree. So far all Mansford has done that's a positive is new concourse TVs being bought. The manager appointment is massive for him and he can't really afford to get it wrong.

I don't think the choice of manager will fall on Mansfords shoulders.

Don't think Mansford has done anything wrong really, he is obviously going to be something of a puppet for Pat Cryne.

Him and Cryne backed Flitcroft but the players brought in haven't been anywhere near as good as we'd have hoped and Flitcroft was sacked the minute that public opinion thought his time was up - it wasn't drawn out at all.

The search for a new manager is being done in private but publicly he has been putting support being Micky Mellon - exactly what you'd expect him to do, otherwise Mellon's heart just wouldn't be in it.

Today was another Keith Hill / David Flitcroft (season 2) performance, we definitely need a new manager who has no links to the previous regime. The question is do we try and get someone in purely to try and keep us up (like Warnock who probably wouldn't want a job for longer than the remainder of the season). Or do we go more long term and get someone in who, as long as we aren't playing just as bad, ends up taking us down for a rebuilding job in league one.

To be honest, I don't buy into this "going down to rebuild" nonsense, I'd much rather stay in the Championship as rebuilding can be done over a summer. Getting out of League One is just as hard as getting out of the Championship, we were very lucky the year we did end up getting promoted.

We all thought the new broom sweeping through the board would see us in much better shape but I've got to be honest, the board has really fecked up on this one in my opinion.

It must have been bloody obvious from October that perhaps Flicker was not cutting the mustard and perhaps they may need to think about what Plan B is.

Now I will happily eat a slice of humble pie if they pull a rabbit out of the hat next week and anounce "look who we've been lining up". However, despite it being obvious that Flicker may not last the course, it appears to me as a mere fan that they sacked Flicker and thought "****, what do we do now". They appear to not even have seen it coming, and had no choice but to give Mellon a chance to make it his.

Now that Mellon has proved that he isn't the future, they have nowhere to turn. A lot of people are going to be psycologically done with it all for the forseeale if they appoint Mellon now.
