Fao BFC fans not getting a season ticket

Would you be tempted with a 10 game season ticket for £150 where you could pick and choose 10 games throughout the season so you'd pay £15 a game instead of £23 ?

I'm quite happy to pay on the gate. It costs me more in the long run, but I don't see that as a problem. I'm putting more into my club by doing so, but not in a lump sum. I have other priorities that require lump sums.

I'm a casual supporter these days I suppose. Living 40 miles away and using public transport, as well as being unable to attend most midweek matches and working the odd Saturday, it makes no sense to buy a season ticket other than to save a few quid. Plus, having gone two years now without one, I've realised how much it restricted me. Sat in the same stand/seat every week, and more often than not, surrounded by a few 'bellends'. I don't have to put up with that anymore. I've sat in every part of Oakwell this season other than the away end and spent time with plenty of lads/lasses I like.
Take last weekend for example. [MENTION=6714]Googs[/MENTION] sorted me a ticket for nowt. Top gesture. But the folk around him were the sat quiet brigade. That's their prerogative. But it made me look a bit of a weirdo, shouting and swearing etc. I felt a bit of a knob, as it goes. But if I behave like that where I normally 'choose' to sit, it's accepted. Because I position myself usually, with like-minded folk. Other knobs, basically.

Yes. I've suggested that to the club in the past and it's been flatly rejected.

I'm not renewing because I miss too many games due to being abroad. I suggested to Mr Rowing in the past that a system similar to your suggestion could be adopted. I even included examples of calculations - basically the more games you paid in advance for, the lower the price per game. My idea was rejected because (in their words) they got more money from "pay on the day" fans than they would from such a flexi-ticket. I argued that pay on the day fans may be influenced by bad weather, league position, opposition etc so that might not be true, but they disagreed. In the end I gave up and bought a season ticket last season anyway.

I would be happy to pay for about 12/13 games in advance for next season, but can't justify a 23 game season ticket.

 

I'd do it. Not fussed with with watching Wilson's dross next season to the extent I doubt I'll renew after 20 years of having a season ticket since I was a foot tall. But to pick and choose say 10 games at start of the season I'd do that.

I'd be willing to pay in the odd game but at the match day prices I doubt I'd waste, the money like I stopped going to most cup games.

Lets just use say 3k people bought one. (Not realistic probably but just for arguments sake)

That is then the capacity for selling tickets reduced by 3k because you cant say when they are going to turn up...

Add a juicy game in (promotion decider next season) and again not likely. all 3k dont turn up. Thats 3k tickets and seats not sold.

All ifs and buts yes but can understand the clubs position

 

I'm a full season ticket holder and I'd probably go for that if available rather than a full season ticket.

What with holidays - work commitments and just general family stuff going on I only make 15 games I reckon.

A ten game pass secures my seat that I've sat in for years but makes it cheaper - the club just loses out.

I don't think it would work in the very well intentioned way you think it might.

 

I'd definitely do it. It's too cold most of the season for me to be able to go, plus once I factor in petrol, it starts to get quite expensive. The only reason I've been to so many this season is because of the Supporters Trust discount (I even managed to trick 4 people who'd never been to a football match before to go to 3 of them with me, plus my husband and/or dad has been to a lot of them with me too).

You could get around the not knowing how many is going to turn up, by making us swap the stub/a code for a ticket in advance (either online, phoning up or in person).

How do you know what I go out wearing? Have you been stalking me? I also don't sit down for nearly 2 hours outside whilst on a night out. I have an actual diagnosed medical condition, I'm not just being a wimp.

 

Port vale have brought it in this season I thought it was a good idea and wondered if any of you lot would benefit and be willing to pay 150 in front if BFC did it

 

It might be an idea to see how it works in practice. The club then have something to review...

Something our club could do if they wanted.....

1) During the off season someone pays in full 150 quid for a ten game season ticket of the games of their choosing and get an allocated seat.

2) Give them upto say two weeks before a game to decide if they want to use that game as one of their ten picks.

3) If they don't alert the club to send them out a ticket for said game put that ST seat on sale for anyone to buy for that game.

 

One of the Sheffield clubs have done it not sure if Massives or blunts.
