14th Bn Y&L's were known as 2nd Barnsley Pals.

The York and Lancaster Regiment disbanded in 1968 and the men were given the option to go to any of the remaining Yorkshire Regt's. Ie Green Howards, Duke of Wellington's or Prince of Wales's Own (All now together anyway as the Yorkshire Regt)

The Y&L Regt HQ can still be found in Rotherham and the Barnsley Branch of the Y&L Assn is the last remaining Branch they have.

The Yorkshire Regt, are now responsible for all welfare and benevolence cases for former Y&L's.
