Seconded Also, my friend's young daughter gets a special mention on page 16 for winning a 'Proud Of Barnsley' painting competition. The work depicts the town's mining heritage and she will be going to the House Of Commons for the painting to be unveiled and displayed. The only drawback for Georgina is that she has to sit next to me at our matches!!
Indeed it is. My sister (Fired) just scanned and e-mailed it to me. Good thing now is that Laura is most definitely a convert to Barnsley - her Dad (yes I am female) has been trying in vain to get her to be an Oldham fan. I win, I win, nah nah nah!
Re: Seconded .............yep..........bonny girl. Met and had a chat with Calgary Tyke over Christmas before a match and was surprised that Calgary Tyke is actually a woman.
I saw that article kev, I was actually looking at them earlier, you might have a budding Mr C sat at the side of you mate
Well have a safe journey home and hopefully you'll be back on ere tomorrow at some time celebrating once beating a premiership team
Of course I have a soft spot for Oldham too - just wish my other half could've got tickets for the Liverpool game tonight. 3000 "fans" came out of the woodwork to snap up tickets for that game - my husband has probably been to more games this season (3) than most of them have. Ah well. Sneak a draw and the extra revenue will keep them going till the end of next season. Come on You Blues!
Have a safe journey home And remember, the locals who waved you off will be there to greet you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6Xo21L0ybE
Two friends who are artists And another who runs his own theatre company! http://www.markmarkproductions.co.uk/ I'm a real fan of the arts!!
Re: Have a safe journey home I still love that one! Thanks (all) for the best wishes. Hope to see you next time.
Good question, and really hard to answer! Obviously things have changed since we moved to Canada, so no doubt I know more than her now about Premier league, Champions League and MLS (i.e. what I can get to see on tv). So, if we had a "head-to-head" on A Question of Sport, I reckon I would win. On the other hand Fi is incredibly knowledgeable about Championship and the lower leagues. She also has incredible an memory for details, such as who scored for Barnsey when we beat Rotherham in 1980. Or the score when we played Aldershot in the cup in the 80s (I can remember going, but she will recall the details). So, based on that - "proper" football - she wins the contest. Also, Fi was undoubtedly a better player than me - she really was quite handy in her day.
Are the answers Rotherham : Derrick Parker in a 1-0 win at Millmoor, FA Cup 2nd Round December 1980; Aldershot : Steve Agnew in the 1-1 draw at the Recreation Ground and Larry May (2) and Agnew (not sure about this one) in the replay 3-0 win, FA Cup 4th Round January 1987.
Re: Are the answers I don't know - ask Fired!!! Another answer would be " Dil Raj, December 2013 (if not before)." See you then.
