Foster and Hassell pulled up with calf and hamstring injuries in the last two games. 30+ lads, 3 games in a week and long journeys. Coincidence or fatigue related injuries?
That's odd, Trotters had a lot to say on this subject the last few days. Has our resident fitness expert run out of steam?
I see Hassell has appeared in seventeen league games this season. If he's got fatigue then maybe he's in the wrong sport?? What are these long journeys you speak of?? A coach trip to SE London and a flight to Cardiff with a day off to recover?? Exhausting.
The 17 games point would only make sense if they were spread over the season. He's a player in his 30's who after missing large parts of the season has played Saturday-Tuesday for the last 4 weeks so of course it will take a toll on him. Add in to that long away trips on a coach & it's understandable why he's injured
Nah, everything is the same physical exertion as getting out of bed, going to work and laiking on here. It just is.
if a hamstring twangs within the first ten minutes of a game thats a sign that a player isnt fully warmed up. if it goes in the last 20 its a sign of fatigue or over stretching.
He's not tired after 17 games. He's tired after 4 games in ten days. The equivalent of nearly 150 games of football in a year.
That's all well and good but Conan's been known to run up the stairs. Twice. In a day. Bobby Hassell has merely to run around a football pitch. Which is flat.
It had already "twanged" on Saturday. It then tore last night. **** all to do with warming up. But don't let that stop you (or Tyrone, Hemsworth etc).
Indeed I do. Nigh on 24 miles a day. I do a full day's work in between. I never complain of fatigue though. Must be just me that thinks that professional atheletes who are paid to be fit should be able to play between 1.5 - 3 hours professional sport per week. It was only last month that we had an international break - maybe that wasn't enough to recharge their batteries. Still, they've got three months off soon.
I assume then that your travel time is always exactly the same or quicker than the day before then too?
