even worse when a little kid calls you "mate" even though youve never seen them before and your 20 years older than them 1. im not your mate you littlle **** 2. dress properly dont mind older people saying it or your actual mates but kids? kinell fire
Hehe, maybe that's just old age, mate I have to admit, people who don't know me calling me "mate" does do my head in too.
can remember i had this big/fairly old Scottish, Geography teacher at college class idiot walks in and says "alrite campbell mate" instead of the usual "Mr/sir" you know what teachers are like (obviously thought it was a breach of his authority) 1. "im not your mate yer little *****" 2. "yer a waste of genetic material Slater" 3. "the doors on yer reet hand side, you want mi to open it for yer?" class, one of those teachers who had banter, used to drive up to Aberdeen every week/other week to watch them and was in a right mood when they lost (every week)
You get used to Scottish people where I live!! I'll never forget some little drunken ***** coming upto me in Buchanan Bus Station telling me how hard he was and he'd take anyone on, every sentence ended in "mate" He must've been about 14, bless him.
RE: You get used to Scottish people where I live!! youve just given it away Glasgow, everyone thinks theyre hard in Glasgow, its one of those "tough towns/cities". Bit like Barnsley to be fair. Drink and fighting top of the menu.
RE: You get used to Scottish people where I live!! That's right mate, it's actually the murder capital of Western Europe, which wasn't brought up before I moved here!!! To be fair, most of them round the city centre after a few drinks are just a bunch of kids thinking they're invincible because they're pissed on a cider lolly and they have a knife(or chib as the locals say). There are some nice bits too though
RE: You get used to Scottish people where I live!! i proper want to go to the Glasgow derby but i fear ill get stabbed for not singing anit religious songs to the other team, and generally not coming from Scotland theyre should be a neutral section. Can only think of one ground that has a neutral section and thats Craven Cottage. How considerate of them, to provide empty seats for the potential neutral.
RE: You get used to Scottish people where I live!! I've never been to a match, tickets are gold dust. I've been in the city centre beforehand though, and wow, it's scary!! It's just a blood bath. Saw one guy getting his head kicked in like a balloon and the coppers just stood back and waited til the guy had finished before arresting him. It was bedlam. If I can ever get hold of tickets I'll keep you in mind, mate
cheers just want to experience the atmosphere really, heard that its pretty special. Not sure whether to go for Ibrox or Celtic park? not surprised about the coppers, fear of getting a kicking themselves
RE: You get used to Scottish people where I live!! IN ENGLISH PLEASE ! Understand ? Or should I deep fry it ?
RE: You get used to Scottish people where I live!! They batter everything up here....haggis, pizza, sausages, women
