Have to say I'm deeply disappointed with your performance in the last couple of months.
The contract debacle ... 'no contract', 'as long a contract as you want Andy', 'no contract' ... 'is there an 'r' in the month' ... smacks of day to day short term planning [the main reason for the last decade of turmoil at Oakwell].
Airing private business on the radio, timely release of financial figures ... smacks of looking after No. 1 ... no loyalty.
Is it too late to say this was all a silly mistake ... sort it out in private with AR ... and reinstate him.
Its a good young squad, who are motivated and play for their manager ... the fans were onside ... a bit more experience in there and the future was bright. Was it really a wise thing to chuck all that away on a gamble of some new guy being able to do something different, which he probably wont as the problem of getting the right players to come still exits.
If we can't get better players at least we would have stood a chance with a team that had the motivation.

I think you'll find they are very motivated in the next few weeks-a new manager concentrates minds-they all want to be in the first eleven
But he wasn't getting decent experience in ...that was the point. By the end of today a bloody good box to box midfielder will have been recruited [Wallwork], something that wasn't going to happen under Ritchie. They said they acted when it was obvious another deadline was going to come and go without any action. If we had had to wait until January to strengthen we would already be down. And before you say it, the Wallwork deal has been Simon Davey's call - GS has said that.
According to Patrick Cryne "If Andy had stayed in his job , we would have got to Thursday without anyone new . "* So the earliest we'd have brought in experienced players would be January . The players are employed by Barnsley Football Club , not the manager . They are supposed to be disciplined professionals and , as such , are expected to give 100% every game irresepective of who the manager is . If they are unwilling to make that commitment , then they should be shipped out . Managers , players , chairmen come and go . I've been a season ticket holder since the sixties and I've rarely liked the manager or chairman , but it never affected my support for The Reds . No individual is bigger than the club . The Andy Ritchie era has , sadly , come to an end . A new era is about to start . * Taken from Ian Appleyard's column in today's Yorkshire Post .
absolutely correct-we support the club not manager chairman etc anyone who stays away because of this is not a true red!!

Fair Do's The man's a fan, and I reckon good things will come out of this mess. Let's start with the training ground, 2-3 hours a day mon-fri is it? I hope whoever takes over starts cracking the whip a bit more, and if the players don't like it....then as Cryne says, nobody is bigger than the club.
"No individual is bigger than the club" never a truer word spoken. Some would do well to remember that
Hang on Stu It was me who said no one is bigger than the club , not Mr Cryne . Big breaths and clear your mind of Pippa . She has no place in your life , let go those aggressive tendancies you feel towards her !!
Peter Ridsdale,Paul Hart......... now this farce.....I'm not optimistic.....but then you thought you had a chance with curried egg, bacon and sausage
Was it your message that was read out on Radio Sheff last night? Sounded like a right load of ballax.
