McCarthy & Super Tyke..you have to take yer hat off to these guys......its those guys after Coventry

its those foookers straight after the Coventry game, who after just one defeat, when the players had just come back together were berating SD........... its those foookers you need to question
Come on put yer hand up..........who the foook are you ???????? !!!!!!!

I know McCarthey and he has never changed is opinion of SD..........and you have to respect that...........he aint no fly by night like those other fooookers who got on SDs back after SD had just bought the most expensive players (Nyatanga, De Siva) Barnsley had had in years

Just shows how dumb some on here are (wnkr) (wnkr) (wnkr)

Its not a case of Davey out SM. Basically I have always stated i never wanted him at the club.
My main gripe i have consistently said is my concern over the long term future of Barnsley Fc under Davey not the occasional excellent result. Davey has basically brought in exactly who he wanted to the club (more so than any manager since proabably Wilson was in charge) and he needs to deliver consistency. Thats something we still havent achieved

By the way I have only just replied due to me being out on the piss in merriment over yesterdays result. Im well pleased for the lads. Our players played great and we had that luck which you need against the best teams.
Im currently hoping for Chelsea in the next round (cos i'd love it if we beat them).

No credit to Davey for yesterday then? Just the lads. No praise for Davey for going there and attacking? No praise for the signing of Steele? No praise for bringing Odejayi into the fold early enough to make an impact instead of leaving his substitutions too late?

He answered a lot of his criticisms yesterday - and I didn't expect you to give him much credit. "Well pleased for the lads." "Our players played great". Just a well done to Simon Davey would make you seem a lot less stubborn.

Ive praised the team because they were on the pitch. As far as im aware Davey didnt play. If we had lost 5-0 i wouldnt be on here slagging Davey off neither. I dont understand why its so important that we all must praise Simon Davey. Some poeple on here post things like 'well its all gone wrong but i am certain SImon will sort it out'. Sorry but i dont have the same faith.
You might say he was the motivating factor? Well if any of those players out there needed motivating to play at Anfield they shouldnt be a footballer. In fact im doubting Davey had to say much at all yesterday. Why would he need to?
As for Davey answering his criticisms, well he hasnt answered mine, and unlike some on here i stick to my principles and expect my questions to be answered not other peoples. If you dont like the fact i havent jumped on the 'Daveys great bandwagon' Tough! If he proves to be a decent manager then i'll gladly come on here and say i was wrong. At the moment i dont believe i am.

Its strange that i cant come on here and praise the team without getting strung up for it. I once said De Silva looked a decent player. i was hammered for that too. Why? Because i didnt say he was the new Pele?

In any case why is it such a big thing to you that i should agree with your views? Isnt it differing opinions that makes football interesting?
Or it only the opinions of yourself and those that think like you that count?

I dont see why Davey should get the praise, to be honest

He was quick to pass the buck at Coventry, when it went pear shaped. So I reckon its the players that should get the praise now.

And Davey made a point of ensuring that it was the players who got the praise yesterday, just as he gave them the criticism at Coventry.

I just think its naive to suggest he doesn't deserve any praise whatsoever.

So why are people saying that Davey deserves the credit, if he himself gives the credit to the players?

I think he is doing a an OK job, but he rarely gets the resilts away from home, one game does not make him GOD.
We have had more hammerings than good wins or even scrappy wins, you have to look at every game not just Liverpool away(even tho` it was a fecking great result)

Is it not plain to see what is happening at the TARN this season

We are still only 12 months away from Tommy Wright and Marc Richards playing up front for us
Have people forgotten this FFS !!!

This season is about building the team.................FULL STOP
The results are secondary to this although the need to keep away from relegation is always there
But the objective this season is to start building the team
And I cannot beleive anybody can criticise Simon Davey in any way shape or form
Just look at the quality of player he has brought in
A few examples are Muller, Foster, Sousa, Leon, Nyatanga, De Silva, JCR, Mackan
OK some of the players brought in haven't made it........Mosquito, Christenson, Ricketts, Johnson
    My God............what do people want
He has also started moulded those players together into a team and getting a few good results along the way
But the results dont matter so much this season as long as we keep away from relegation
You just wait until next season because I think there will be a total change in focus next season and the emphasis will be promotion OR........tweaking the side ready for a push for promotion the following year

Anybody who watches football regular can see whats happening at the WELL

Why are people not allowed to have an opinion that maybe,

Simon Davey has the player that he wanted at the club, but , with only a few exceptions, the away football he tries to play is awful.
Dont get carried away by one win at Anfield, there has been many more disappointing games away from Oakwell.

I have been smiling more today than any other Sunday this weekend, we have not played well in many matches this season, maybe for 20 mins in some matches, but if anyone dares to say anything that can be in anyway construde as a smear on Simon Davey, they are castigated

<div align="left">I said he deserves some credit. If he'd made a triple substitution with 5 minutes to go, and all three of them had scored, you'd still not give him any credit.</div>

RE: Why are people not allowed to have an opinion that maybe,

do you follow us away? The football we play away is not the prblem. I can only point to QPR as a game where we had a defensive mindset! We have played well and not taken chances on far too many occassions e.g. Wendy, Blades, Bristol, Ipswich, Stoke, Wolves. OK Hull, Leicester, Coventry all *****, but a couple of wins in the others and we would be sitting pretty in top 10. This team can, and will, win away.

Because as already mentioned in this thread only extremes are allowed

hence Davey is either perfect or useless - no in between possibility exists

Obviously he is rubbish - anyone who brings in a loan goalkeeper 2 days before an important game is clueless

Fortunately there are quite a few people who do post balanced views on here.

Unquestionably we have a better team than this time last year Davey has made his share of mistakes but he has also made some very good decisions.

If this time last year you had been offered escape from relegation, comforable mid table league position and an FA cup quaterfinal place its hard to see many being disappointed.

    I never said that

Davey put the blame on the players aftyer Coventry match, not me. I dont blame him for the loss, I blame the whole set up for that match.
If all three players had scored I would have been delirious and given him all the praise in the world. But that never happened did it.
I say what I see , not what you see, evryone sees something different you see Davey as the great mastermind, I dont.
and that is all I am going to say about it.
Yesterday was a great result, but it does not make Davey the next Fergie.
