    York tomorrow, ay thoughts?

And at Newmarket, Air Force Blue and Low Key? Got a free £5 bet from b365, might have a double at 18s.

    Eyup Ponty72.

I might have been tempted to go up to York today but I decided instead to undertake an interesting training course. I don't think I would have prospered on the Knavesmire, but I can be content my insurance will not be loaded next year!

York today looked mighty tricky, and I couldn't see a bet on the card. I have to say, tomorrow doesn't look any easier. That said, two in the Sprint Trophy [3.25] take my eye. These are GOLDEN STEPS and HIGHLAND ACCLAIM. The former was apparently unlucky in the Ayr Gold Cup, and is in form. The latter looks on a workable handicap mark, and although he needs things to drop just right for him, looks capable of a bold show. I must stress these are speculative picks, but you can get 12's on both so I've taken them against the field.

The Dewhurst [3.10 Newmarket] is an absolute cracker of a match between Air Force Blue and EMOTIONLESS. I'm with the latter, who just shades it on my ratings and having won mightily impressively at Doncaster, after just two runs, the Godolphin colt may just have the greater scope for improvement. I'm on him for tomorrow and for the 2,000 Guineas.

I think LOW KEY has to enter calculations for the Cesarewitch [3.45 Newmarket]. At the prices though, I've also had a nibble on Tony Martin's two [QUICK JACK, HEARTBREAK CITY] and a small saver on Sir Mark's MOSCATO. Elsewhere at HQ, I like MISE EN ROSE [2.00], GIFTED MASTER [2.35], MISTRUSTING [5.00] and MUTAKAYYEF [5.35].

I'll be watching all those off tape once I get back from witnessing a stunning victory against Crewe. Good Luck on the Knavesmire!

Cheers pal, interesting read as always. Food for thought. It does look a tricky card for picking winners. Think I'll be ew all day and look for some decent prices. Might just pick a tipster and follow them all day rather than scratching my head.

With Gifted Master and Mistrusting both winning at 4/1, I make that 10 points back from 7 races played (split stakes where more than one selection). 2/7 = 28.5% [ROI = 42%].

Ryan Moore looks to have several good prospects at the Curragh today. He rides four for Aidan O'Brien, who's strike rate is currently an impressive 29%.

I also think Paul Nicholls could have a good day at Chepstow.

I won on the first, Arthenus, but not another sniff, I was only giving the bookie his own money back though. Just spent a fortune on ale, was a long day and night.

TBH Reevy, I was quite impressed! Certainly better than three points! I know some people wouldn't declare to their insurers, but that invalidates your policy, to my way of thinking. Whole lot bigger hole, that. Thing is, we were told the fekkers load your premium for up to five years if you take the points.

Must admit, it felt like being in the Naughty Corner though! Steadier to the races in future!
