What were your thoughts on the club letting Danny Free go at the end of the season and signing Jordan Hibbert?

Jamil Adam and Jordan Hibbert signed professional contracts. I have no idea of the length of contract they have each agreed.

Danny Free, Martin Grundy, Jack Watts, Tom Mellor and Danny Warburton were all released.

Rueben Noble-Lazarus has signed a two year scholarship and a one year professional contract.

Unusual for a trialist(Hibbert) to be given a pro when some of the other lads have been there years.

There has been no anouncement on the club website so I have made no assumption about signings from the second years. However, you have been right in the past so I will assume that you are right again and proceed from there.

When we let Letheren go, I assumed that we would keep Danny Free. In my opinion, Danny was the outstanding player in last years second years, even above Adam. His performance against Newcastle (Home) was amazing and for me he has consistently performed for the last 2 years. I saw Leatheren at the same age and although Leatheren was physically stronger and slightly bigger, I rated Free as the better player.

Jordan Hibbert did not play for the Academy the previous season. He has also missed the second half of this season, for reasons unknown. He certainly has talent on the ball and he scored a number of good goals from midfield. However, his workrate off the ball was poor and I was critical of this in a number of my match reports. Based upon what I have seen, if the choice was between Free and Hibbert, I would have gone for Free.

Was Jordan Hibbert at Chelsea and then at Charlton?

I do not know his history, but I would not be surprised. I remember thinking that the had a London accent early last season.
