Lets be civilised about this aswell

I want to read a constructive response to a question that many people on my side of the Ritchie arguement will be asking as this 'chucked it away' season draws to a close!

So come on then Mr Ritchie's biggest fans, what is wrong with Mick McCarthy??

Is this the same Mick McCarthy who built his promotion winning side with Sunderland with players such as Dean Whitehead and Liam Lawrence, who both came from Oxford and Mansfield respectivley and the last time i checked, were both third division clubs.

His team last season cost £750,000, he did it with good judgement of young players from the lower leagues. His Sunderland team this year have played some good passing football and have been let down badly by the strikers lack of scoring goals and the ageing defence, they have rearly been hammered this season.

His ONLY mistake was Jon Stead as he is not a premiership striker, but Mick trusted his judgement in good up and coming young players from the lower leagues and that is waht he was when he came up through the ranks at Huddersfield and was scoring for fun. He didn't get many games at Blackburn so didn't score that much. Mick was yet to learn that his eye for talent in the lower leagues wouldn't work in the premiership and he needed load of cash to spend of quality premiership players for Sunderland to stay up, as any team in the premiership needs to do nowadays, but he had no money at all so they were hardly likely to stay up with that team were they.

He would be perfect for us, he would have a clean slate with most of our current squad out of contact in the summer and he wouldn't have much money to spend so he would be able to trust in his judgement of young players who wouldn't cost much!!!

If Sheperd and Cryne are the diehard Reds fans that they claim to be then should we not make the play offs the they should at least consider making the change in the summer!!!

    SO THERE!!!!

Ritchie v Mick McCarthy as gaffer next season?

Ritchie has had every thing he needs to be a success at this level and has been found wanting. Money has been made avalable to buy players but he sticks with his mates.

Contrast this to McCarthy who has had an impossible task after getting Sunderland into the Premiership. He has had a fraction of the money to spend on players than we spent in our year in the Premiership. Sunderland are still as bad a side as they were before Murrey sacked Mick in the hope it would get the fans off his own back.

Ron you cannot be serious ! He's the most obnoxious bloke in football today (apart from his chairman that is).
No thanks ! You may not like it but I think Ritchie has his failings but must be given another season. Chopping and changing managers too readily is what's got us where we are now.

    LOL

How is putting some statistics up talking *****?

Of course those stats are irrelevant but as most of jonathans posts are complete ****** I dont see a problem with replying in kind

For what its worth - my real opinion is that Ritchie has done enough this season to justify him being given another go next. We have improved this season despite losing the best player we had by miles last season. Had we had Chopra this season we would have pissed this league. Clearly we have problems in scoring goals but the playoffs are still a good possibility. Pleasant change to looking at avoiding relegation.

Now If McCarthy is still a real Barnsely fan and
if he is prepared to work for us for a wage we can afford
and If the club want to hire him - I will give him my full support as I think he is a good manager but realistically I dont see it happening.

And I cant think of anyone who is likely to come to Oakwell who I am sure will do a better job than Ritchie. Changing the manager is more likely to result in going backwards in my opinion thats all
