If you're around like, the sponsor logos on the official site look crap, you can see where they are distorted from being resized and in particular the Barnsley Building Society one is hard to read (its just something thats bugged me for a while). I just thought that you might be interested in swapping the ones that on currently for some new ones. I've just knocked up replacements which seem to be a bit clearer and less distorted than the ones that are on at the moment.

Below is how that area looks now and how it would look with the new ones and the logos are below that.

    ps

the file size for the three of them together is around 30kb smaller than what is there at the moment. Not much I know but for those on dial-up every kb counts.

Good suggestion - the website is the Club's most valuable marketing tool, it's how the whole world see us.

I agree the logos should be better defined - like you've done.

Oh, and not having a go because re-sizing logos is tricky and i'm no expert, but to be honest, if my IT team allowed fundamental errors like that on our website, they'd would have all had verbal warnings from me.

The best place for spot on logos is to speak to the marketing department of each sponsor, as it's in their best interests too.

I agree, the best place to go is to the sponsors themselves, they'll have high quality logos and will be able to supply resized ones for the club to use.

Also, like you said, you can't have a go at Rob for the quality of the logo's because he's a journalist not a graphics person. then again i dont rate him as a journalist either (hiya robert hunny) and the club really should have provided him with training for all aspects of running the website. Plus the attempts that I did at resizing the logos was far from perfect lol

Totally agreed. In fact if my company was a Sponsor, I would have been on the phone from day one complaining about it.

Where is the website run from then? At Oakwell, or else where? And do Premium TV just provide webspace and major banners?

    Rob is based at oakwell

Unless he's been shifted recently which I doubt and i've no idea whether premium tv provide the banners. I think they do some but not others.
