[IMG]Striker Neil Shipperley has had his contract with United terminated by mutual consent.

The experienced frontman, 32, leaves the Lane in order to give him every opportunity to find another club.

Shipperley has yet to feature for the first-team this season after being influential in the club's promotion-winning season - he scored 11 times as the Blades secured their elevation to the Premiership.

Being unattached allows him to join another club after the closure of the January transfer window, should that be the path he decides to take.

Shipperley, who lists Chelsea, Southampton, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Barnsley and Wimbledon as his former clubs, is now free from the injuries that dogged him earlier in the campaign.

    SIGN HIM!!!!!

    must be signed

an experienced player, has done well for us in the past and is proven at this level.

get his signature on a contract tomorrow!

someone else will realise what a good signing he is if we're not careful. Comeon Barnsley make the sort of signing people have wanted since promotion.
