Please help me with my notes for tomorrow's game.... When was the last time we won 4 league games in a row and when was the last time we had a home record comparable to our recent form (4 wins from 5 @ Oakwell)? Also, I've finally succumbed to Twitter for anybody remotely interested.... @Matt_Bailey1575 Cheers
I make it 2004 mate. We beat Blackpool (1-0), Colchester (2-0), Torquay (1-0) and Peterborough (4-0).
Also for saturday the last time we won five in a row in the league was back in our 1996-97 promotion season starting with six wins on the bounce........ http://www.soccerbase.com/teams/team.sd?team_id=208&teamTabs=results
For the home wins thing I'd say somewhere in the 05/06 season, since we only lost once at home in the league all season. Football League One Tu 10Jan 2006 Barnsley 1 - 0 Gillingham Football League One Sa 21Jan 2006 Barnsley 2 - 0 MK Dons Football League One Sa 04Feb 2006 Barnsley 2 - 0 Bristol C Football League One Tu 14Feb 2006 Barnsley 1 - 1 Port Vale Football League One Sa 25Feb 2006 Barnsley 1 - 0 Colchester We had a long stretch of home Draws either side of those 5 results All from soccerbase of course.
Re: For the home wins thing Cheers lads, very helpful. The 2004 run was Nov into Dec as well, wasn't it?
sorry mate but i think you'll find it was five league wins on the bounce which is the current record for our league start we lost a cup game to rochdale
yeah but we lost a cup game between league win so it were never six straight wins choose how you look at it
Coincidentally After this run, we didn't win at home for the rest of the season, we drew every league game and lost the Play-Off match.
Why not Next season you could be commentating from the Emirates and Old Trafford, rather than London Road
