The Crown is no more.... Somebody torched it last night. mmm very suspicious. amazing that it has been stood for 2 years and suddenly last week some construction blokes turn up, then this week its torched. Now that it has been mentioned that its going to be flats. Sounds all too dodgy for me...
That sounds very suspicious, its been closed all that time and apart from smashing the windows nobody has been inside it or tried to set it on fire and then the moment it is decided that they want to build on the land it gets torched. Nice little insurance job there then.
I wonder if they got the same person in to do it as the chippy did when he did his insurance job. Allegedly and all that of course

mmm. I have heard since, another couple of possibilties... but daren't say owt out loud on here... In partic, their was a couple of "young uns" that were "caught" on monday night trying to set it on fire.... so, insurance job may have been a bit too much a "jump in with both feet" comment, nonetheless, what ever happens, they better shift the speedbump before knocking down and re-building/replace with houses from in front of my house. That is a dead cert... ps, never took much notice wether or not the phone line was in tact that held the shoes up....
I still claim insurance job it's my answer for everything fire related
They should get rid of all the speedbumps and just put a speed camera outside the school instead, the bumps don't even make the village safer. For example, I used to go through at 30mph, now i go at about 50 because you don't feel the bumps as much. And with the roundabout at middlecliffe the first bump down there isn't needed anymore because it's impossible to be going too fast by the time you get to the village.
Anyways I hope the shoes are still up, theyre the only highlight of the village
