Why should he have a bigger contract in terms of monetary value and length than say Perkins or Craine Or mellis or Even the younger really talented players.

And please don't say because he's one of the best keepers in the league, because quite simply he's not. He's a good shot stopper but there's a lot of good shot stoppers in league one.

Also please don't answer with the question because he's been here 5 years or whatever and what he did against Liverpool. There's plenty o players i would prefer to have than luke Steele from that squad.

When I read other forums to see what they've put about Barnsley i find they are saying good things about a lot of players, very often it isn't Luke Steele. The player i see most mentioned is, David Perkins yet some on here want Steele to have twice the contract or Perkins current deal and happy to see him on twice the money.

As I put in the other thread, I don't have an issue with reduced terms if that is how we need to cut our cloth. What I do have an issue with is a one year deal.

I view Luke Steele as an asset to the club. I think we should try and keep him. You do not offer a 28 year old keeper a one year deal if you want to try and keep him.

If that is what we have offered it strikes me as a disingenuous offer that has been made solely so the club can shrug its shoulders to the fans and say "well, we offered him a new deal but he chose to go elsewhere." If the club doesn't want him to stay they should come out and say it. He has been a good, loyal servant and has always spoken well of the club during his time here. He deserves to be treated with honesty and respect.

And he sh1ts on Ben Alnwick.

You are just repeating what you said earlier Hemzoid. You were alone then in your opinion and you are alone now. No-one will ever take you seriously if you keep talking the same rubbish about BFC players just because they have been at the club longer than you have been going. You can't just start a new thread because you were rubbished in the others. Give it up and learn something about football.

I don't believe you did. If you had you wouldn't have this stupid vendetta against him. You just make yourself look a fool time and time again.

You call yourself a fan. At times it's embarrassing how you attack some of our own players, usually the longest serving ones, on a public forum.

I was there with a friend.

It was one of the twenty away games I attended that year.

Lucky you to have so many days off...

Ill reiterate it for the hard of hearing.

A goal keeper is paid to stop the ball going in the net. Not how straight he can kick it, that is secondary.

Steele has saved us in two games I can think of in the last three months.

Saves that have ultimately kept us up.

Luke Steele has been a great servant of this club, and should he leave this Summer it will be sad to say goodbye to him. But he'll go with my best wishes, and I'll always look back at his time with us fondly. He's certainly made lots of memories.

And if he does depart, I hope the replacement Flicker has in mind will go on to be just as crucial to us.

I disagree DeeTee. That's like Saying a wicket keeper in cricket's only paid to keep wicket. Which isn't true. he's got to score runs and Punching and kickings part of a goalkeepers job. At some clubs kickings seem and his the highest. Swansea got Vorm over a lot of keepers because of that.

I think it's quite clear that you don't rate or like Luke. Just as you don't rate/like Bobby. That's fine, it's your choice, your opinion. But we don't need you to keep reminding us every 5 minutes, mate.

Comparing a wicket keeper to a goal keeper is like trying to compare fishing to warehousing.

    You are off your head.

It's quite apparent you are one of two things, clueless or a vindictive know nowt.

    You chose.

I'd only be happy if Luke Steele left if we got Heinz Muller back :D
