I am glad tbh. Because having now read through the last 24 hours of posts, the state I was in last night I would have latched on to some of the usual suspects' attempts at stirring and negativity.. so yeah, well done me.
I want to start by saying Happy New Year to you all, and much love for 2012.
    .
And what an ending to the year that was hey? And who would have thunk it at half-twelve when we saw the team sheet? Not me thats for sure!
I wont discuss the match, its been done to death. But I will rate the lads performances as I saw them..
    .
Luke Steele was back to his imperious best, dealing well with the few chances the scum created. Made a splendid punch in the first half as the dirties knocked a flurry of balls into the area. ( 8 )
    .
Bobby Hassell was his usual self - exemplary in everything he did. It amazes me the criticism he attracts. A better player positionally we do not have. And his starting of many attacks will again go unnoticed. His passing at times was first rate. He does difficult things so easily, that people take it for granted. We are a much better side with the captain in it - as my stats continue to prove. 14 starts - 2 defeats and 1 of those he was subbed at 0-0. ( 10)
    .
Stephen Foster was rightfully restored to the team, and was as commanding as ever. His distribution - so often his weakness - has improved no-end under Hillcroft. ( 8 )
    .
Jimmy McNulty is prone to lapses of concentration, but I cant help but love the guy. Signed for less than a tenth of the Shackell fee, and potentially just as good IMO. ( 7 )
    .
Jay McEveley had the best game I have seen from him. He did well in all the areas I usually doubt it. THIS is the Jay I want to see, the guy was awesome in the air, hard in the tackle, and supported Vaz Te ably. Didnt stand off his man which is key. Keep it up! ( 9 )
    .
Scott Wiseman is potentially very good, but needs to make decisions much earlier. Let Bobby down once or twice. But grew into the role, and impressed again. Versatile in the extreme. ( 8 )
    .
David Perkins showed yet again that he has been wasted in the Sheffield leagues. How anybody can knock him is beyond me. And with another worker next to him he is able to do his destructive/constructive work up and down the pitch. He isnt a ball-winning holding player, he is the clear-up man. Another one who does a lot of unnoticed forward work too. ( 9 )
    .
Miles Addison was that good that I now want him to return - unreal display. The enforcer we have needed, and finally looked fit and mobile. My MOTM without doubt. Sign him up on that display! ( 11 )
    .
Matty Done was his busy self, but came alive as a threat 2nd half. Pace and control to die for. ( 7.5 )
    .
Ricardo Vaz Te was unplayable. When like that, you realise what a numpty you were for doubting him! I adore him, he makes me smile. 3 great finishes, worked hard too! ( 10 )
    .
Craig Davies is the best striker in 10 years at Oakwell. Enough said. ( 9.5 )
    .
And a massive 10 out of 10 for US!
