Anyone any memories? Seem to recall late 70's, early 80's, popping in and there was a coachload of Millwall fans. At the end of the night it was Barnsley songs at one end, followed by Millwall songs at the other end.. all good humoured and bonhomie. Any Kendray lads remember this? I'm told this occurred for a few seasons?
Being born and brought up in Kendray I knew many of the regulars of various generations. Although , never a member of the club, I went in probably a couple of times a month. It was a great club. I remember lads telling me of great nights the Millwall fans, and another load from the North- east who used to come for a night out. Despite Kendray having a poor reputation (much of it undeserved) the club was quite friendly, don’t get me wrong if you wanted bother, you wouldn’t struggle to find it, but overall a good club and members
Remember it well we use to go down london for weekend and they would come up here for a weekend.Think they stopped at Oakwell Villa.We stopped in Blackheath Common once i recall and the hotel porter thought we were Barnsley F.C.
