Amongst all of the other stuff from the interview, I can't help but scratch my head at this constant reference to 'fast, attacking football'. Yes, in many of the seasons I've supported Barnsley we've had some skilful, pacy, attacking players - Hammill, Hignett (not so much pacy but class), Marcelle, Bullock, Vaz Te, Devaney, Shuker can I get away with and dozens more that I can't be bothered to write. I feel getting at the opposition, a bit of pace, skill with blood and thunder mixed in is what BFC are about historically. Anyway, this current squad must be the slowest and least devoid of skill, ingenuity, guile, class and especially PACE I can ever remember from a Barnsley squad. Literally only Keillor-Dunn would tick any of those boxes really. This certainly has to be up there with the slowest bunch of players I can remember at the club - perhaps alongside the side we had under Thordarson when we had Crooks and Garry Monk in central midfield FFS (Still remember going to Notts County and we had 7 defenders starting). The fact our aim is to play fast attacking football is absolutely hilarious.
Even DKD, who is an absolutely brilliant footballer, is extremely slow. If he was quick he'd be significantly higher up the pyramid.
I think as a club mantra we should hold ourselves to signing a taller Ronnie glavin. Anything else shouldn’t cut the mustard
