my grandad sez, it was a decent day at bramall lane in april 1912, walked it there nicked a bike outside the railway hotel, to get back but got pulled up by old bill comin up chapeltown hill as pissed as a fart! got done 2n6pence for drink in charge but they let him keep the bike.
Went there boxing day a few years ago, when we threw it away. People queuing into the road to get in and then a **** load of steps to walk up to the stand.
Southend. Nice weather (if you play them at right time of year). Away friendly beer garden just behind ground. Low roof on away end so we make a LOT of noise.
RE: Elm Park Easter Monday when 2 goals from Liddell and other results around the country meant we were in touching distance of the Premiership.
Elm Park Was One Of My First Away Trips The coach was able to park so close to the turnstyle, that you could jump off the coach and get paid. Worst bogs i've ever seen at an away ground. Moss growing through like a greenhouse. Disgusting. We won there 3-0 though.
RE: Elm Park late 70s it was on boxing day in the mid to late 70s can't remember owt about the match but about 80 went on a special charted train, was with a group of the barnsley viking scooter club members all long parkas with badges, about 20 of us went into their end and ended up getting a few slaps lol. a great day out.
RE: Elm Park late 70s i remember that 1 tink ! lost 1-0 they got promoted with us that season, we went again the season after and they whipped us 7-0 !allan clarkes final game of pro football. went on the special the 1st match, the 2nd match we piled in the back of chris macnicholas' van, stayed in buckingham that neet, happy days tink
Milennium Stadium - We've got a 100% record there... ...and always will have!! (OK - even though technically it was a draw!)
RE: Elm Park late 70s the 70s were definitly the best years for following football, did tha go to wigans old ground what a shithole lol. went on the special and shared one side of the ground with them with just a line of coppers separating the two sets of fans clarkie scored with a penalty i think
RE: Milennium Stadium - We've got a 100% record there... anybody go to BRADFORD P A away. What a scarey place.Glad when they got kicked of league.
Bumhole Lane Great view from the upper tier of the away end and never seen us lose there in god knows how many visits!
