Not really bothered about sweets and chocolate,

    I prefer savoury/spicy things.

There's a shop at Elsecar Heritage that sells quite a selection of "old" sweets, I say old as mum and dad recognise them but I don't!

Fruit Salad. And Refreshers (both the little crunchy sweets and the chew). Can still get em though, I still have one now and again. I used to love Texans too.

On a side note, when I grew up there was a lad on our estate who's Dad was employed by a sweet company, he used to tell us he invented sweets for a job. He used to come home with all sorts. Something called a Striper, a fruit chewy bar is one I remember. Was a long time ago though, can't even remember the lads name.

Little shop at Shafton-Two-Gates used to sell the ends, where they had been trimmed, of liquorice allsorts. Delivered by Wilkinsons in tea chests. You could buy them at 1d. (old money) per quarter. That was even cheap in those days.
