    Wimbledon In General.........

is overated so bring on Flushing Meadows at the end of August. I think people only say it's the best because they are English and none English people like it best because it's based in London. Reasons I think it's overated include the same people always reaching the later stages without many if any shocks, the rain delays and how silly people get about the chances of our guys winning anything.

Same people reaching same stage without shocks? Bartoli just made the womens final here - and Federer makes the final of everything, not just Wimbledon. Not sure what your point is.

Bartoli was the success story of the whole thing and it reminded me of years gone by when ladies like Jelena Dokic and Alexandra Stevenson came from nowhere. Look at mens tennis through the years with Sampras and then Federer dominating on grass. There's been very few winners of the title in the last 20 years. It's bad news for the game that a final between the best two players in the world can have a 1/7 favourite in the mens game and the favourite in the womens final was 1/15.

But Federer makes the final everywhere - Wimbledon is no less predictable than anywhere else. Federer wins everything apart from Roland Garros which Nadal wins.

This was the closest final in nearly 6 years....Federer by no means outplayed Nadal, twice Nadal had 15-40 on Federer's serve in last set, but lacked the grass court knowledge....overall....a very entertaining final.

    You've only just noticed

    Tennis is so predictable that...
The Womens final was between the 18th and 23rd seeds
The mens doubles was won by the 10th seeds
The Womens doubles was a bit more predicatable the 2nd seeds beat the 4th in the final
The Mixed doubles was won by an unseeded pair.

so one out of 5 goes with seeding and its all predicable
