Those were the words by Palace fans about Barnsley, on the car radio as I drove back after the game. Sums it all up really. McIndoe best player by a mile, rest of 'em were pretty poor. First time I've seen Togwell, don't rate him that much. He hassles a bit, but doesn't win it enough for me. It was so annoying to see how we allowed their player to make a long surging run from the half-way line without a meaningful challenge -(I think someone just ran alongside him,) and this led to a goal as he shot, Colgan parried it out towards another player who slotted it home. We had trouble clearing the ball from our box in the first half, giving Palace several opportunities. But our forwards got little service, and many of the balls into the box were hard to deal with for our two -they were delivered from an angle, and high, just hopeful stuff, long punts into the box. Ritchie's got his work cut out now, at the end the players looked thoroughly pissed off, as we all were. This was an opportunity today to get something away from home for once, as Palace were on a long run of defeats, and we failed. We've had seven defeats in our last nine, and Ritchie's GOT to do something to change things. He can't continue just being hopeful. If we end up bottom after the Xmas & New Year programme we're really in the ****. Time to earn your money Andy, we're really up against it. Change tactics, change personnel, restore confidence, get 'em fired up for the next game, but DO SOMETHING!!
I bet Holloway, Sturrock,McCarthy, e & others.. who were impressed with us earlier can't believe theirs ears if they're listening to theses types of comments about us.
RE: I bet Holloway, Sturrock,McCarthy, e & others.. we were truly shocking today tho , all the early season promise appears to have gone , 2 nil down at hull and you could sense we were still in the game , 2 nil down today and we wouldnt have won if palace didnt bother comimg out for the second half
Ritchie & Holden have got to try something different... Change the routines this week, the tactics, have a crisis meeting with the players, get them fired up, ANYTHING to stop the rot and get confidence back. When you're down like this, a MASSIVE effort is needed to salvage things, by everyone, players and management. You can't just carry on being hopeful.
