A barnsley lad, loyal, and solid over many seasons. Glad he was there as part of the Oakwell legends. SUper Johnny Hendrie got a great reception for his role in taking us to the premiership, but the club argueably means more to Crossy.
Probably right mate. Mind you, I did have to explain to my daughter (attending her first few games) who JH was and why people were cheering himff Still, well done the Club. I like the idea of introducing legends to the crowd at half-time.
RE: I wonder if we will get Neil Shipperley to do one soon?? No because apparently were a bit too northern for his wifes tastes . Unlike Sheffield which is, of course, is positively equatorial!
"Charlie" Cross A very solid left back who played when we were in the business of selling our better players. Had he not broken his leg at Plymouth I think he would have have definately been sold to a bigger club. If I remember rightly he was playing superbly well at that time.
No need to Paul is one of the most down to earth blokes you'll ever meet. He was probably singing along with the rest of the crowd.
RE: I saw Greg Maguire at the match yesterday , And I saw Steve Foster in the Barbers yesterday morning.
Hardly in the category of "legend" though, we had to wrack our brains trying to remember him. When will Mick McCarthy be down Oakwell then?
He won the fans POTY And before his injury looked a class left back. He was out for ages and when he came back he seemed to have lost something, which was very unfortunate as I thought he had it in him to be a real star. Got some very fond memories of him like. And his tash.
