RE: Big mistake letting him go. As long as we get a better replacement, which we ought to, no great loss now... He did really well for us and he's a top bloke and a character but his legs have gone.
Aye. Had a feeling we'd let him go. Be a decent signing for Forest. Extremely hard working lad. Think we need to progress to natural finishes so not too disappointed to see him leave.
His Interview Here........ http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11727_3637920,00.html We want to pay him less and want to sell him before he can go for nothing.....
The worrying thing is he is quoted as saying we can't afford his wages! Whats he gonna be on? 4k a week max? Can't see us signing much 'quality' on 4k a week.
what ever happned to his mate Rajczi? any chance of a return thought he was one of the better of the two at the time and a frank Ribery look alike
RE: His Interview Here........ Barnsley striker Istvan Ferenczi claims to have offers from England and Sweden. The Hungarian international has been transfer listed by The Tykes as they look to shed his wages. Now Ferenczi has confirmed that there is interest and one club keen is Nottingham Forest. "Telling you the truth the club wants to modify my contract and I'd earn less than before as they're unable to pay my full wages," the 30-year-old told Pepsifoci. "I do like my present team and would like to stay, though I was told if a suitable offer comes in then the club would release me as this is the last time when they can get money for me." Ferenczi confirmed the interest in him adding: "I have had an approach from Sweden and Nottingham are also interested and if it's up to me then I'd choose Championship new-boys Forest. "I like the English football style and Nottingham is close to here [Barnsley] so a move wouldn't be that difficult. But the most ideal thing [for me] would be to stay here."
i wouldnt have thought he would be on 4k a week? if club captain howard is only on that, i bet he is only on 1500 a week, if that.
cant afford his wages in what context? In the context of him being a squad player possibly on money we need to spend elsewhere. JC is correct about so called wage caps, its not on individuals its on percentage of turnover. Sad to see him go missen but if we have better in the frame then thats life
Having thought about it... it appears more like poor treatment of staff by BFC. 'Stan, we don't really want you here anymore, so unless you cut your wages in half i'm afraid we're gonna let you go..."</p> Suppose thats life for a lower level footballer!</p>
Just typical football contract dealings I suppose Once you are not considered to be "first choice" and essential then that's how the cooky crumbles. I'd rather we dealt like that rather than heading to admin or relegation again. I doubt such action is in any way unique to BFC
I would imagine he can sit out his contract for another year Cant see how anyone can see it as poor treatment.
Well i for one really like him. Yes i know he's not been hot in front of the goals, but nobody can deny the work rate and hard work he put in If only he could have someone to play off him
We're getting all sentimental here. he isn't good enough for the championship he comes up with the odd goal every now and then but lets face it other than closing players down what does he give to the team? Odejayi is the better option of the two, neither is going to score goals week in week out but odejayi gives something in his presence and pace, he scares defences to pieces! If only he had the brain/finishing of a good striker! Stan is a Legend though. One that shouldn't be forgotten!
