A successful manager but achievements overshadowed by his flawed character --- petulant, whinger, lacking professionalism etc. To my mind the game is better off without him.
WRONG. the most succesful manager in english football ever, maybe in the world. his so called flaws as you have stated made him the person he is and the respect of just about everyone in the world of football.
You are joking right in years to come people will look at his record which is phenominal - his character wasnt so flawed that his players wouldnt run through brick walls for him - The only reason the game is better off without him is it gives some other clubs a chance to win something
Ladies and gentlemen, there you have it. Dragon Tyke's self-assessment form for the end of the tax year.
Wrong I think. I see your point and many might agree but his career success is unrivalled. He's also not the only manager who's a petulant whinger lacking in professionalism. Simple Simon used to complain about the wind
personally couldn't stand the bloke, you can't take away his achievements but 90% of the time a graceless nerk when they lost. Fergie time was coined because of the way the ref's were intimidated by him. Boy would I have loved to ref one of their games !
Wrong. The best manager in the history of football. The ultra competitor even into his 70s. The game will miss him desperately, IMO. I feared that he would "do a Jock Stein" so I hope he can enjoy his retirement now. David Moyes has got one hell of a bloke to live up to.
Re: no mate hes just he didn't have to Phone flicker and any other new manger in their first jobs to wish them well and offer advice. But he does because hes obvioulsly a nice chap. some people are just stupid. hes just passionate about winning, but they cant see that
Everyone knows mu feelings on it. Horrible bloke, horrible club and horrible fans. I hope the drop like a stone. Ooops look at that I'm showing hatred again towards them
I see him as a flawed genius. A brilliant football manager, football tactician and motivator. But the flaws in his character - his petulance, his immaturity, his whinging means that he never assumed a statesman-like persona in the game of football.
No, it's not hatred, it's jealousy. Just imagine what City could've achieved over the past 25 years had they had Ferguson in charge. Mancini's only got 36 more trophies to win to match him. Dream on.
Ferguson took over the biggest club in the world He had the choice of nearly every footballer in the world It took him years to win anything In the English game he started to dominate winning trophys..........he obviously should have with the players he can buy Alan Smith and Ferdinand from Leeds when Leeds were a top team is an example of the buying power of Manchester United - this season its been Van Persie from Arsenal But for all his buying power; in Europe he has failed..........all those years at Man United and only two trophys Compare Ferguson with Pep Guardiola I would say that Fergusion is a good manager...........but there are far better managers out there than Ferguson
Were they? Really?? Not Liverpool, then? No he didn't. Less than four years. - No he hasn't. And it's three trophies. Okay I will. No there aren't. Yet again Nudge, your arguments are fatally undermined by a laughable lack of knowledge about football history. Sure, Man Utd have had the means to blow serious coin on a few players down the years, but more than most, they've nurtured from within under Ferguson.
I think Peter Reid summed it up for me last night on the BBC special. He said that any manager from non-league up to the Premier could phone Fergie up and he would return the call. He would give advice when asked for and phone up new managers to offer support and encouragement. He said that whilst he was ultra-competitive when the teams were on the field, after the game he'd have time for a drink. Arrogant? Yes, but I've said on here before that I think any manager needs to be arrogant.
