Davies is getting better at his distribution. Kicking is improving and now looks out for opportunities to throw & spring a quick counter-attack.

We still don't know if we can cope without Long. Yes we got a clean sheet but the defence wasn't really tested. I still fear the lack of experience and leadership at the back may be exploited against better opposition.

Hecky made the wrong subs again. Just like last week I would have taken Sam off and had Watkins up top with Fletcher & Isgrove on the wing instead of the substitutions he made. I know one his subs scored the winner but I felt we were less threatening after Isgrove was taken off along with the brilliant Brownhill.

We need to practice corners and shooting with power. How many times did the ball float into their keepers hands!?

Donny are relegation contenders. Woeful performance from our SY neighbours. Never looked like scoring and their plan to stop us seemed to equate to hacking our players down at every opportunity. They improved when Coppinger came on but were 2nd best throughout the whole game.

We are playoff contenders. In fact we are well up there with the best in the league. 8 wins out of 9 and we haven't been outplayed by a team since Wigan 2 months ago. We are where we are because of the stupid tactics & policies we used that lead us to that 8 game losing run. If the season had started in January or we had started with the current set up we would be title contenders. Another totally dominant performance today.

This is why we love football - I thought Davies' kicking today was the worst we've seen from him. It was awful and generally ended up giving away possession and putting us under pressure.

As for Isgrove - the lad runs a lot, and that ends up causing issues for opposing defences. Yet to find a red shirt with a pass.

First half we were dominant but didn't make their keeper work at all - second half they came into it and rattled Roberts and Bree enough to cause us problems.

Disagree on the subs. Could have taken Winnall off but he's got 17 goals - you just don't take a lad off that knows where the net is like that. Also thought Scowen had a very positive influence from the bench.

Hecky got it right for me, completely. & it shows in the fact we went on to win.

It was certainly Davies' worst kicking display for a while I thought.

There were people say behind me going on about taking Sam off but as stated, he knows where the net is and comes alive in the box so you can't take him off.

I also think the reason our corners went straight into the keepers hands is because he was about 8 foot but yeah I'd have swapped Hammill and Hourihane around so they were sending out-swingers across away from the goalie.

I wouldn't take Sam off unless he was injured. You can't take your top scorer off because he is the man most likely to.

Davis doesn't seem to like kicking out of his hands. He's dropping the ball in front of himself all the time.

I think Hecky got it spot on. I said to my brother that it would be hard on Brownhill to drop him, but a gritty local derby is right down Scowen's street. I think he brought balance back to our midfield just as Donny were starting to turn the game in their favour.

I thought Davies' kicking was poor today, and he was far too hesitant when distributing the ball a few times when Hammill had made an early run.

The game plan seems to be to bring Isgrove and Brownhill off for Scowen and Fletcher, and it seems to work. Scowen reinforces the midfield and Fletcher has a great impact from the bench.

Roberts is not the answer. Looks jittery defending & distribution is woeful

Can only comment on what i've seen. There's a reason why he was dropped in the first place

Thought his kicking wasn't too good today and that he was slow at times releasing the ball, especially to Hammill. Needs to get out of the habit of blatantly trying to run the clock down every game as refs only add it on anyway.

I'll agree with that. Roberts didn't play particularly well or fill me with much confidence. Hopefully he's an improved player on tuesday should he be picked again.

No matter how poor he plays he isn't going to take off our top striker who only needs one good chance to win a game. His subs were good as proven by one getting the winner. Nice to see a double substitution so early.

That's true. Too many corners close to their keeper, Isgrove twice looked to pass when he should have shot and we had a number of different players with powder puff shots.

I think they will stay up. Win a few in a row and they will be well out of it and any team in our league are capable of that.

We totally dominated today but seven points is alot to make up, so whilst play offs could still happen we are very slim contenders right now.

I agree, I'd like to see us bring in a more experienced centre half to try and replace Long

I actually think we are much more than slim play off contenders.

If you look at our remaining fixtures, the majority are against teams above us and we have a useful game in hand against some.

So it really is in our hands and I believe it is likely to go down to the last match away at Wigan.

We proved today that we can bounce back from a loss and we are the team with the most momentum.

We ground out a result today which is the sign of a good team.

Confidence and belief is high and the vocal support from the fans was good to hear today.

It's still all to play for IMHO so COYR! !
